In a standard social studies class in the U.S., Black history may be featured as a few chapters in a textbook. However, what we learn just scratches the surface of the depth and breadth of Black contributions and experiences. Dr. Khalil Gibran Muhammad, Professor of History, Race and Public Policy at the Harvard Kennedy School, unpacks some of these contributions and talks about understanding systems of oppression in order to dismantle them and build a more equitable future.
